December 9, 2010 BAH
At Adirondack Bank

The Trenton Chamber of Commerce held its annual Christmas Business After-Hours on December 9. Once again this year, the event was a fundraiser for the Foothills Rural Community Ministry.

The event sponsor was Adirondack Bank of Holland Patent and Adirondack Bank Insurance.  A number of  people showed up at the branch with new, unwrapped toys for the “Adopt a Family” program through the Foothills Ministry.  Guests were asked to bring a toy for their admission rather than the usual $5 entry charge.  A basket raffle was held for a variety of gift baskets generously donated by local businesses.  And again this year, Adirondack Bank matched all of the proceeds at the door and from the raffle and more than $1,200 was raised and donated to Foothills to be used for the Food Basket Program.

Representatives from the organization were on hand to receive the donations and toys.

Thank you to all of our members and everyone involved in making this such a successful event.

Guests enjoyed delicious foods and beverages and of course networking.  Special thanks to Kelly Smith and her staff at the Holland Patent branch of Adirondack Bank for their efforts.

Also at the Business After Hours, the winner of the fuel raffle was announced.  Bill Bandych of Barneveld  held the lucky winning ticket and has chosen to receive 100 gallons of fuel oil provided by Remsen City Fuels.  More than $1,000 was raised for the chamber with this annual fundraiser.  Thank you to all members for selling tickets and to those who supported us.

Over 70 people atteded and those attending were asked to bring a canned good for the food pantry at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Forestport.  Several bags and boxes of canned goods were collected and some who forgot to bring food opted to make a cash donation instead.  Over $125 was raised in addition to the food collected. The gifts were later presented to Jan Siegal of the food pantry, by Frank Northup from the VFW.

JULY - Business After Hours

The Trenton Chamber of Commerce held a summer Business After Hours on Thursday July 29. The event was co-sponsored by Adirondack Cheese Company and Trenton Station Liquors and Wine and was held at the new liquor store.

It was a great opportunity for members and non-members to see the beautifully renovated Trenton Station and all the store offers.  About 40 people attended the event. Guests dined on foods and snacks made with delicious Adirondack cheeses, and took part in a wine tasting.  Many thanks to all of those who took time out of their busy summer schedule to attend this event and support the chamber and it’s member businesses.
