About the Oneida County AGRI*CULTURE Project

The Oneida County Agriculture Economic Development Program (OCAED), headquartered at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County (CCEOC), has received a NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets Agri-Tourism grant in the amount of $43,350.00 to support a multi-faceted project to help develop, expand and promote agriculture-related tourism opportunities in Oneida County.

Primary project partners include OCAED, CCEOC, Oneida County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Oneida County Farm Bureau, Oneida County Board of Legislators, and the Oneida County Historical Society. Together with steering committee members and other organizations and individuals, these partners will contribute time and resources to augment the project’s $94,550.00 cost.

Oneida County AGRI*CULTURE project components include:

  • Kick-off workshop for ag producers & tourism promoters

  • Database of Oneida County agri-tourism-related enterprises

  • Map with listings and related information

  • Linked agri-tourism website

  • (3) Public programs

  • (3) Special interest promotional brochures

  • Establishment of an ongoing agri-tourism coordinating group

AGRI*CULTURE Map

The attractive, colorful full-sized roadmap, which is expected to include approximately 200 Agri*Tourism listings, will likely be the project showpiece, introducing visitors and residents alike to “all things agri-cultural” in Oneida County. 100,000 copies will be published, hopefully in time for free distribution debut at the 2007 Boonville-Oneida County Fair.
